Why Does Aurelia Academy Matter for Women in Automotive?

You might ask yourself, and I have too, several times in my career: “Why is female leadership important in the automotive industry?”

The answer is clear: the industry is transforming at record speed. Electrification, EV battery innovation, and the circular economy are reshaping the mobility landscape. But women are still underrepresented in leadership roles. That’s why Aurelia Academy focuses on three powerful pillars that make a real difference:

From Participant to Speaker: My Aurelia Journey

When I first joined Aurelia Academy as a participant, I was struck by the ambition, energy, and mutual support among women in the automotive industry. The speakers’ journeys reflected both professional excellence and personal resilience.

That experience left me energized. Soon after, I stepped into a new role: speaker.

Now, I share my own story in the Aurelia community:

⚡ Working in the battery and EV sector long before it became mainstream.
⚡ Turning my technical passion for electrification into a business as Electrified Veronika and lately Electrification Academy.
⚡ Navigating challenges as a female founder and mum in a fast-evolving industry.

For me, this is more than storytelling — it’s about showing the next generation of women leaders in automotive and EVs what’s possible.

A Community Experience Like No Other

This year’s Aurelia community events were unforgettable.

We started the day at Google Germany, hosted by the amazing Stefanie Schieber, exploring the intersection of technology and leadership. Later, we gathered at the CUPRA City Garage in Munich for a vibrant Community Connect.

What stood out most? Finally meeting so many inspiring women in automotive leadership — women who are already shaping the future of electrification, battery innovation, and sustainable mobility. The energy, ambition, and support in this group are unmatched.
