Industry Experience
After finishing my PhD in Technical Physics at Graz University of Technology I joined AVL List GmbH in Graz, Austria for almost four years. Starting as a simulation engineer of lithium-ion batteries, I was involved in methodology development, international customer projects, cooperation with universities as well as supervising students, from battery cell to module to pack applications.
I built up my expertise in:
- Battery thermal runaway and propagation simulation based on battery abuse testing; finite element and CFD simulation
- Battery lifetime prediction based on battery cell testing; electro-chemical, half-empirical and data-driven models
- Battery thermal management simulation, thermal concept studies, battery standards and regulations, virtual sensors and solid state batteries
